Strawberry fields forever

This week Spring Break began.  A week of entertaining my kindergartener.  What to do, what to do?  A couple of the mom's from "A"'s class decided to plan our own private field trip.  My friend, Naoko, thought going to a Japanese Strawberry picking farm would be a fun outing.  So she got the information from the farm and I rented a bus from Vehicle Ops, so we wouldn't have a convoy of cars following each other around town.

So we got to the farm in about an hour and the kids were excited!

Can we have some order, please?!?!?  Ahhhh.... Much Better.

These type of outings are great for spending time with your best friends!

Now the Strawberry Farm is not what we would think of stateside.  It is actually called Strawberry House, as seen here on the sign.

Once inside, the "House" name makes sense.  It's a huge green house with rows upon rows of raised beds of strawberries.

It's quite a sight and smells wonderful.

However, you cannot pick strawberries to bring home.  You pay to pick and eat as many strawberries as you can/want.  Now you may wonder how much strawberries can one eat in an hour.  Well, quite a few actually.  The strawberries aren't very big and very sweet.  There is no tart factor in these strawberries.

Want proof?  Well, "A" was never a strawberry eater before.  However, once at the farm she decided to try it out.  She had a lot of fun picking them...

But once trying one, she had a better time eating them.  All gone...

Off to get moooooorrrrrrrreeeeeee........

It was a great time for the kids and the parents.  What a perfect way to spend quality family time.

And quality friend time...

BFFs

"A" enjoyed seeing the busy bees' homes...

What a hard little worker.

What a pretty little flower hidden between the strawberry plants.

What a great day and a yummy adventure.  Until the next one...
